St. Augustine Public Montessori School

Enrollment Consideration Form and Enrollment Information now available.

Due February 28, 2015.

Our mission is to provide students in Grades 1 through 6 (ages 6-12) with a learning culture that is grounded in Montessori philosophy. This historically proven educational model supports the whole child, creates lifelong learners, and educates for collaborative approaches to community leadership. The foundation of this academic excellence is a prepared classroom environment that inspires self-paced, individualized discovery; a love of learning; and respect for self, others, and the environment.

The St. Augustine Public Montessori School is part of the St. Johns County District. The school is governed independently by a non-profit organization Board of Trustees, but is accountable to the SJCSD and State Department of Education. We hope to build upon the great success of the many public elementary Montessori schools across the nation and Florida. SAPMS will enhance the District’s excellent success rates and attraction for residents by including a Montessori option as a public school choice.

Read our Charter School Application as submitted to the St. Johns County School District and approved on September 13, 2011.

St. Augustine Public Montessori School will emphasize the following key Montessori principles:

“We cannot create observers by saying ‘observe’, but by giving them the power and the means for this observation.”
